My SafeSend Plugin is Missing

SafeSend Exchange Legacy version only. 

Please follow the instructions below on how to find and enable the SafeSend Plug-In in Microsoft Outlook. 

Outlook (2010, 2013, 2016)

The following steps are to enable and show SafeSend Outlook Plugin within Microsoft Outlook (2010, 2013, and 2016). If you are on an older version of Outlook please scroll down to the next section. 

Select “File” 

Then "Options"

 

 Select “Options”

 

This will provide you a new pop-up window

Select “Add-Ins”

In the Add-In window, you will see three types of Add-Ins; Active, Inactive, and Disabled Application Add-Ins

SafeSend will be in either the Inactive or Disabled Application Add-ins section

If SafeSend is Disabled
At the bottom you will see “Manage:” with a drop-down menu next to it
Select “Disabled Items”
Click “Go…”

Select “SafeSend_10”
Click “Enable”

 

Note: You may need to restart Microsoft Outlook for these changes to take effect.

If SafeSend is Inactive

At the bottom you will see “Manage:” with a drop-down menu next to it

“COM Add-Ins” should be selected

Click “Go…”

Check the box next to “SafeSend_10”

Select “OK”

 

The Plug-In will now be in your Toolbar

Note: You may need to restart Microsoft Outlook for these changes to take effect.

Once these steps are completed, you can turn off monitoring for the add-in so it will not be disabled for 30 days. To do this, go to File > Manage COM Add-ins > Slow and Disabled COM Add-ins then select Options > Do not monitor this add-in for the next 30 days. 

Outlook (2007)

The following steps are to enable and show SafeSend Outlook Plugin within Microsoft Outlook (2007)

 Select "Tools"

Then "Trust Center"

This will provide you a new pop-up window labeled "Trust Center"

Select "Add-ins"

In the Add-In window, you will see three types of Add-Ins; Active, Inactive, and Disabled Application Add-Ins

SafeSend will be in either the Inactive or Disabled Application Add-ins section

If SafeSend is Disabled
At the bottom, you will see “Manage:” with a drop-down menu next to it
Select “Disabled Items”
Click “Go…”

Select “SafeSend_10”
Click “Enable”

If SafeSend is Inactive

At the bottom, you will see “Manage:” with a drop-down menu next to it

“COM Add-Ins” should be selected

Click “Go…”

Check the box next to “SafeSend_10”

Select “OK”

 

The Plug-In will now be in your Toolbar
